0 for 2. Ouch.
I was really hoping not to have to use that graphic again. But here we are.
We made a film that we thought was pretty funny. It definitely did not have what one would call "universal appeal". Maybe it even offended some people. Who knows?
What We Don't Know
The nature of these things is that we don't know why we were passed over. We don't know why one of our favorite films by another filmmaker wasn't selected for anything either. And unless something changes, the organizers of the 48 Hour Film Project in Columbus don't publish the nominees. So, we don't know if we were even nominated for anything.
What We Do Know
I guess we know not to make a film like the one we did, if the goal is recognition.
We also know that we had a lot of fun. We know that we need more crew on the technical side of things. And we know of a few things we can do differently to make the quality of our films better.
The bottom line is that we had a lot of fun with, and learned a lot from, this round of the 48 Hour Film Project. Which means our next attempt will be better.
And, heck, maybe even win an award. Or not.
